Amongst the beauty of our nations capital, Ottawa is the home to some extravagant architecture known as Parliament Hill. Construction of the buildings at Parliament Hill began in December, 1859, and it was the largest construction project in North America to that date.
Did you know? The Centre Block was destroyed in February 3rd, 1916 due to a building fire and the new Centre Block & “The Peace Tower” was completed in 1927!
Parliament Hill is one of the most frequently photographed locations in Ottawa and attracts close to 3,000,000 visitors every year! With all the monuments, statues, 19th century architecture and the beautiful view of the Ottawa River, there’s so much to see and capture.
