It’s that time of year again when you start seeing more facial hair on guys and fake moustaches for pets, and those who might have a hard time growing a beard! Movember is an annual event in November that works to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. They tackle issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention
Here are some quick facts about men’s health issues.
- Prostate Cancer:  on average, 59 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer every day and 11 Canadian men will lose their lives due to it
- Testicular Cancer: an estimated 1,100 Canadian men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016 and 40 will pass away from it
- Mental Health & Suicide: men in their 40s and 50s account for almost half of suicides in Canada
