2014 & 2015 are our #throwbackthursday topics this week.
2014 was another year of expansion for GTA Photography Camps as we moved camp to the University of Toronto Campus on 150 Charles St W in the then brand new Goldring Building. This move meant that we had even more field trip possibilities with places like the Royal Ontario Museum and Yorkville nearby. We also expanded to hosting Teen Camps at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus for the summer.

The programs we offered began to increase as well. In 2014, we taught youth camp for kids 9-12, our regular teen camp programs as well as speciality programs photo editing and portraiture. We began to experiment with our favourite camp activities such as light painting and water balloon photo freezes.
GTA also opened its first Instagram account in May of 2014. We now have two Instagram accounts for GTA Photography Camps and GTA Photography classes.

In 2015, we added our popular street & documentary camp to our roster. This camp helps teach campers the basics of photojournalism and how to capture people off the street organically. This called for field trips to popular Toronto venues such as Honest Ed’s (which closed in early 2017).

2015 featured the activities that all of our campers know and love such as projector art and the camp olympics.

Learn More About Teen Camp 1
Since our beginning, we have taught photography programs for teens. A lot of stuff has changed but our field trips, the fun we have, and making sure everyone learns something remains the same.
