We recently came across a Formula One photographer, Joshua Paul of Lollipop Magazine, who uses a Graflex 4×5 View camera from 1913! Without the use of any modern camera technology, these photos (seen below) might not be the sharpest, but the composition, emotion and his photography style makes these photos simply amazing!

Paul says he was inspired to cover F1 with his ancient camera after seeing 1969 magazine with photos of the Indy 500 that year. The photographer had intentionally captured the race blurry and out of focus. – PetaPixel
With digital photography, we can up thousands of photos and still have more room on your SD card for more! When using a Graflex camera, you have room for only 20 photos per session. Being selective about your shots is really important and you can’t be trigger happy with the shutter. What makes Joshua’s shots so amazing is his patience to find the right photo in the right moment!
Here are a few photos while Joshua was at formula events all around the world from Canada to Monaco!
