A great way to get out of a creative slump is to try out a photography challenge! There are plenty of challenges out there and we even created some brand new challenge templates for you to try out. Pursuing a photo challenge is a great way to commit to your photography and get creative. You may discover that you love taking a type of photos that you’ve never tried before and is the perfect reason to step out of your comfort zone.
1. 365 Challenge
This challenge is exactly what it sounds like – one photo a day for a whole year. This is the ultimate challenge! You can put whatever spin you want on this, try giving yourself a theme or genre of photography to base your photos off of. You could challenge yourself to use different lenses. As long as you’re taking a brand new photo each and every day for 365 days, challenge complete!

2. Use One Lens For A Month
If you love having a variety of lenses to choose from, this might be the perfect challenge for you. Try limiting yourself to just one lens for a whole month and see what comes out of it. It may make your process a little more difficult, but that’s what a challenge is all about! You’ll have to find new ways to take photos that you might want to take with a different lens. 3. Weekly Challenges
There’s a wide variety of weekly photo challenges that you can try. The main premise of this challenge is that you must follow a different theme each week and capture an image inspired by the word listed. By the end of the year, you’ll have 52 photos that you can be proud of!

4. One Colour Each Month
This challenge asks you to focus on one colour for each month of the year with your photos. You might one to take one photo a day or challenge yourself to 10 per month! This great idea for anyone who loves playing around with colour. By the end of this challenge, you’ll have twelve new photo series featuring different colours.

5. Shoot At 100 Paces
This challenge is a fun one! The idea is that you go on a walk and you must stop at every 100 paces to take a photo. You’ll have to get creative because you’ll probably still have similar things around you, but you might be seeing them at different angles! This is a fun photo challenge if you’re trying to push yourself to take lots of interesting photos in just one day!
6. 30 Day Challenge
The 30-day challenge is a really common type of photo challenge. There are several that you can find to encourage you to take one themed photo each day for a month. If the 365 Challenge intimidates you, you might want to start with something like this! And if it goes well, there’s no stopping you from continuing and going for the whole year!

7. 52 Photowalks
The idea behind this challenge is to get you out of your normal setting and take photos! This challenge was created for people who feel like most of their photos are taken near and around their homes. In 52 Photowalks, you’re being challenged to take a photo walk once a week for a year, each time in a different place! Whether it’s to a new park, a new part of downtown, or a completely different country, try going somewhere out of the ordinary and getting new photos every week.

8. 100 Strangers Project
The 100 Strangers Project is a challenge where you aim to take 100 photos of people you’ve never met before. This challenge can be interesting for anyone who loves portrait photography and is looking to step out of their comfort zone. However, some great photos do come out of this challenge and we encourage everyone to give it a try!
