Who Is It For?
If you have taken Photo 101 and Photo 201 and are ready to learn about more advanced lighting techniques, this workshop is the next step for you! Off Camera Flash will have a specific focus on learning to properly use an external or off camera flash to have more control of the lighting in your photos than ever before!
*Please note that students who have already taken Photo 301 should refrain from taking this workshop as it covers similar material about advanced lighting!
What Will You Learn?
You will learn to become comfortable with controlling the lighting in any situation by using a small, convenient and inexpensive flash unit! This skill is very beneficial to any photographer wanting to step up their lighting abilities! You will learn about the pros and cons of using off camera flash, and what works best for different situations. This workshop will cover topics like:
- How to trigger a flash when it is off camera
- How to create “flattering light” with modifiers and positioning of the flash
- How to balance flashlight with both ambient natural daylight and artificial light
- Creative lighting techniques like overpowering the sun to create a dramatic effect and how to fake sunlight
