Photography has come such a long way since the first surviving photo was taken by Nicéphore Niépce in 1827. We can easily see photography’s rapid evolution through film to polaroids! Now that we’re in the digital age of photography, it has opened up so many possibilities for photographers and for people who just want to capture a memory.
Despite all the changes the camera has seen over the past century, the core concepts of light and photography still remain! Check out the simple illustration by Mala Kumar that follows the evolution of the camera!
The evolution of photography in the digital age has drastically changed how we produce and consume photographs. Nowadays, most of the photographs we see are on Facebook, Flickr, Instagram or blogs and crisp amazing photos can be taken on your cell phone! In 2000, the first camera phones were introduced to the market and sold in Japan, and South Korea. This incorporation of the camera and a cell phone literally changed the photography world, making it very accessible to the public!
Computers have integrated with, and even replaced, a lot of technology related to music recording, film making, graphic design and photography. Daniel Sanculi, a.k.a @thelightninja, is a photographer that produces vibrant photos through the use of digital photography and software editing. Check out these amazing shots!
