Introduction to Photo Editing
Expose yourself to the wonders of photo editing! In this program, students will be introduced to two industry leading photography editing softwares: Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Through guided demonstrations, students will learn the key adjustment tools for retouching and manipulating images within each software. Daily field trips will provide students the opportunity to capture a variety of images to experiment with during daily editing periods!
“The camps are amazing. My son has learned so much at camp and had a wonderful time!!”
– Melissa McCrae | GTA Photography Camps Parent
- Key Photoshop tools (paintbrush, clone, liquify, text, dodge/burn etc.)
- Overview of Lightroom workflow, tools and adjustments
- Restoring and retouching photos
- Multiple exposures and overlaying textures
- Photo manipulation
- Creating your own out of this world, surrealist image
Campers will learn great tools in Photoshop and Lightroom to make either slight adjustments or massive changes to their images. They’ll learn how to tweak colour, contrast and saturation to take their images from good to great in a few quick steps.
Selections & Layer Masking
When campers are ready to fine tune their images, we’ll show them how they can modify very specific parts of their pictures. They’ll be able to get super creative by compositing multiple images together, changing the colour of objects and overall taking what they see in their imaginations and creating them on screen.
Retouching and Creative Enhancement
The instructor will guide campers on how to edit both landscapes as well as portraits. They’ll learn all the retouching tools in Photoshop so they can remove things from scenes or duplicate them. Teens will also learn how to create their own filters just like Instagram to give their images a creative twist.
