This past week, we offered our first video production camp in Toronto. The camp had nine campers and was led by Youtube star, Noah Lalonde!
Instead of running a top shot contest like our photography camps, video campers were asked to create a short film with the theme “My Toronto”. To encapsulate this theme, the group went on field trips all over the city including the Eaton Centre, Nathan Phillips Square, Union Station, and St. Lawrence Market.

Our campers learned how to capture video on their DSLRs and proper filming techniques. Monday and Tuesday were spent capturing footage and planning out their shot lists for their projects. Wednesday and Thursday were spent learning how to edit their footage using Premiere Pro. In Premiere Pro, they learned how to create titles, overlays, and transitions for their video. By the end of the week, all of our campers had short videos to present at our Friday exhibit!

Beatrice won our top video prize for the week! Her video showcased Toronto with a vintage filter over the footage. Her transitions were seamless and her minute and a half video told a fantastic story! Check out Beatrice’s video below.
Here are the final videos from the rest of the campers:
