With a board-wide PA Day for Toronto District School Board on Friday, February 17th and Family Day on Monday, February 20th, some of you may need some activities to keep your weekend fun!

1) TIFF Next Wave Film Festival
This festival looks to celebrate and educate our youth! There are affordable programs and talks for teens 14-18 and all regular screenings are free for every under 25! If you’re interested, there is also The 24-hour Film Challenge.

2)Â Toronto Light Festival
With over 13 acres of land and 44 buildings participating, the Distillery District looks stunning at night! Walk around to see a number of interactive light installations, sculptures and more!

3) Winter Stations @ The Beaches
Starting February 20th, you’ll be able to see a number of art installations along The Beaches between Victoria Park & Woodbine. This is all part of the 3rd annual Winter Stations International Design Competition that works to celebrate Toronto’s waterfront!

4)Â Leslieville Flea
This is a free monthly market that sells a number of vintage goods, antiques, collectibles, handcrafted goods and much more!

5)Â License-Free Family Fishing
On the Family Day long weekend, you won’t need a license to fish in Ontario waters! The weather is going to be much warmer than average so fishing might not be a bad idea!

6) Evergreen Brick Works’ Winter Village
As we listed out in our last post about family activities (Fun & Free Family Activities), we recommend you stop by Evergreen Brick Works’ Winter Village where there’s a strip of nature on the Don Valley in the heart of Toronto! From now until February 28th, the Winter Village will be opened from 11AM – 6PM everyday! Enjoy nature walks, public skating, farmer’s market and amazing artisan food. Admission is completely free along with many activities!
