Photo 201 is Intermediate Photography that builds on the knowledge gained in Photo 101 and covers more advanced topics for those looking to get more involved in photography.
TOPICS DISCUSSED:
- Review of intro topics (Exposure / White Balance / ISO)
- More advanced camera settings (Metering, Custom WB, AF modes, shooting modes)
- Other intermediate creative techniques (panning)
- Lighting (how to handle difficult lighting scenarios)
- Flash (on camera and external)
- Practical workshops
PRE-REQ’s:
- Students must own their own DSLR camera (see link for details: DSLR cameras)
- Students should be comfortable shooting in manual mode
- Students should have completed a beginners photography course either Photo 101 or equivalent.
LOANER CAMERAS AVAILABLE: ($25 plus HST) Please also note that we do have loaner cameras available if you do not have a camera.
To borrow our cameras during class time, just register as usual and select the loaner camera option in the registration process.
FORMAT:
All Photo 201 classes include 8 hours of instruction.
(6 hours of in-class lecture and 2 hour workshop)

Class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
All class registration is FINAL. Full payment is required to secure a spot.
Unfortunately, we do not allow transfers to other sessions as we hold the spot and others may have been turned away.
In emergencies we may make an exception; however, there will be a transfer fee of $50 per change.
Registration deadlines are 1 week prior to the start of a session; however, please note that in most cases our sessions book up before the registration deadline.
GTA Photography Classes reserves the right to cancel or postpone any workshop without notice. If such an event occurs, pre-registered students will be notified.
All classes begin promptly at the stated time. Any missed material is forgone by the student.
