MARKETING INTERNSHIP: (PART TIME – SUMMER)

GTA Photography classes is a boutique photography school operating in downtown Toronto and quickly expanding to new markets.

We are looking for a dedicated and creative individual to help us with our marketing efforts over the summer (May – Aug) on a part time basis.
This position is an unpaid position, with a potential for a bonus if targets are met at the end of the summer.
In addition, the individual will gain invaluable experience working on multiple marketing projects, and working side by side with Ana Belic, President and founder of GTA PC. The individual will have the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge from someone that started the company and quickly grew it to a leading photography school in the GTA within a few short years.

DUTIES:
- Coming up with campaigns and executing the promotion of Teen Camps / Adult Photography Classes
- Social media account management
- Search Engine Optimization: working on techniques to improve sep
- Blog entries
- Designing email marketing campaigns
- Direct promotion of teen camps at high schools around Toronto
- Google Adwords campaign management
- Other marketing promotions as required by GTAPC.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in a University / College with the intention of returning in the fall.
- Marketing courses / experience is preferred
- Proactive and good at multi-tasking
- Photoshop, Illustrator and indesign is an asset but not required
- Meet tight deadlines
- Available 3-4 days up to 20 hours a week
- Experience in internet research
- Ability to write interesting and creative articles.
- Experience with Twitter, Facebook, You tube, Pinterest, Flickr, and other social media sites
- Experience with WordPress is an asset but not required.
- Must have laptop

PHOTO 101 Grads: Photography Contest & Exhibit

Here at GTA Photography Classes our students continue to capture our world through exceptional imagery and have managed to set a high standard for photographic excellence. Last year, we received contest entries submitted by our Photo 101 students/photographers from all over Toronto and the GTA.

We are already almost  through week 4 of the contest, so if you havn’t started submitting photos it is not too late!

EACH WEEK between now and the Exhibit, THREE  photos will be selected from all eligible entries to qualify as finalists for the exhibit.

All finalists will be updated weekly on our blog and grand prize winners will be announced at the Exhibit on May 10th, 2012.

RULES:

• Each week (for 8 weeks) leading up to the Exhibit, submissions will be due every Friday by NOON.
• We will announce any finalists by the following Monday.
• All students submitting photo entries grant permission to GTA Photography Classes, to use the pictures in a non-commercial manner for their, web pages, presentations and other promotional/media outlets to promote our contest and our school.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

• All students must submit their work online via email to contest@gtaphotographyclasses.com
• Digital files are required and must be no longer than 1000 pixels on the longest side and saved as JPGs.  Files cannot exceed 4 MB per file.
• Please clearly label your images with their titles.
• The same students can enter in multiple weeks; however, each student can only submit up to a maximum of 3 images in total per week.

We will be picking a Grand Prize Winner along with a few Honorable Mentions and of course our People’s Choice Award at the Exhibit.
