Hi Rita - yes that would be fine. As long as it has manual mode - which it does.
Hope to see you in our classes this fall!

Hi Stephanie,

The new Sony C3 is most definitely a smaller more compact version that is easier to handle and travel with.
There are pros and cons to both, but essentially here are some things to consider.
DSLRs are bulky - but they are fantastic in terms of the quality of lenses and hence image quality. Also - if you are looking to upgrade lenses later on, it is good to go with a Canon / Nikon that will have a really great line of lenses.
We would essentially recommend the DSLR in most cases, but if size is a big issue for you , then definitely consider the Sony C3. They do have good image quality as well and are smaller and more compact.
Good luck!

Hi!

I'm looking to buy a camera and I hesitate between a DSLR and a mirrorles interchangeable lens camera (sony nex C3 for example.

I would like your insight on the mirrorlens interchangeable lens cameras, would you recommend them? For me, the size of the camera matters a lot... but I intend to do a lot of landscape photography. Would this type of camera be suitable?

thanks!
